Last Saturday

 

Last Saturday we went to see Charley. So here she is at 50 days old. His majesty got lots of holds (as pictured!) but I got the lick.

We pick her up on Friday (as in tomorrow!!!!!!!!) and so are desperately trying to get everything ready for her. Expect lots of cute pictures. Oh we went to London for a few days for his majesty's belated birthday and walked loads. I took over 300 photos. I think I am becoming obsessed with pictures of the human form (no not like that you dirty minded folk!) as I took loads of snaps of statues and masks at the British Museum. Some of the Roman statues are so lifelike. It takes no effort to imagine these marble forms as real living human beings. I'll have to download the photos soon and show you all what I mean (puppy permitting).

Also, think kind thoughts for Charley as she will get her first inoculations tomorrow afternoon.

So reading the above you should have Charley already and her inocculations will hopefully be over by now. I hate taking Fintan for injections of any sort. To be honest he rarely seems to notice them! Have fun guys! :)

I remember when I was 50, but unfortunately no one was holding me like that at the time! Charley reminds me of the little fox-terrier we... well I and someone, had in the early eighties. He (the dog) was salt and pepper, just like me back then. Today, if I'd be in Ian's place on that pic, I'm not sure one could tell where the hair stops and where the beard begins. She's really of a beautiful satiny white colour, and if she's anything like the one we had which I have no doubt about, tons of affection is in store for youz two!

Thanks for the link. I didn't know at all that originally they were to be eaten specifically on Good Friday. Since in French they are called "lent buns", I thought it was for the whole lent period. My ignorance may be explained by them not being a custom at all in my native Acadia (and maybe in French Canada at large, I'll have to check), since I first heard about them here in Montreal in the nineties. Besides, the cross on those sold here look more like straps than like a cross as on those shown in your link and which look terribly yummy!

Still waiting for a Charley-update.
